I have been a little more active on here the last couple days. I did a few updates that hopefully made navigating a bit easier, and will help you to find the type of posts you want to read less frustrating.
One of the changes I made to my blog was a “page” called The Live List, and it’s a bucket list of sorts that my boyfriend and I created together to make the most out of this life we were given together (cheesy I know) but it’s been loads of fun! The idea was inspired by Kelly Jensen, and you can read a bit more about it here.
We have so much fun adding new items and even more fun completing them. The other day we completed our “picnic” and “swimming in a pond” ones! Here are some (crappy iPhone) photos from those days!

Ok so our picnic may have been on a bench but it had the best view!

I look like a lump but it’s the only photo of me from the pond haha

So yesterday Ryan and I went to go check out the apartment we had set our sights on for September. When we first arrived we were super impressed by the location and the aesthetic of the building. When we entered the lobby was super nice as well and we were feelings extremely optimistic… until we saw the unit. It was in the middle of some updates which made it a little harder to visualize what it would look like complete, but it was MUCH smaller than anticipated. The lack of closet space and space in general was discouraging to say the least. The bathroom was my main concern as the shower was extremely short and if any of you know Ryan personally, you know that he stands at a lanky 6’3. Luckily he’s a trooper and said it wouldn’t be a problem, but I couldn’t help feeling disappointed.
After we left the appointment we were impressed by the building and it’s amenities but the size kept holding us back. With 10 days until we need to move out of our current space, it put us in a tricky spot. We made a pros and cons list (which always works for us) and decided that there was much more pros than cons and to just go for it.
Since deciding to accept this unit (we’re signing the lease Monday… eek!) I’ve gotten increasingly excited about the apartment. I love organizing and decorating and I’ve decided to take this on as a challenge. My pinterest will serve as my biggest guide, which side note you should check out because I spend WAY too much time on it and it does not get the public attention it deserves hahah (link here: https://www.pinterest.com/k__armstrong). I’ve been reading “how to decorate small space” articles and they’ve been surprisingly insightful. I think I’ve saved a few on my pinterest, but I’m excited to try some of the tips out.
I’ll post photos and give a little apartment tour once it’s all complete. Which just warning you now, may take me a while because I’m a tad bit of a perfectionist and won’t take photos until I deem it perfect haha. If I figure out some good systems for organizing/making the most of the small size of our apartment I may do a blog post on that as well (if you’re interested). In the mean time, thanks for reading and I hope you’re all having a lovely weekend. I worked all week including today so mine is just starting!
