I thought I’d craft up a little questionnaire to cover the basics of who I am and also get into a few of the things you may not have known about me. If there’s anything else you’re itching to know, feel free to comment below! Be as snoopy as you’d like, I don’t mind.
1. Full name?
Kate Ann Armstrong
3. Any pets?
I had a cat back home named Beaty but I think you would say it really belongs to my mum. I hope to buy my own pet some day.
4. Dating anyone?
Yes ma’am. Ryan stole my heart in the winter of 2012 before I left for my exchange program, and we officially started dating when I got back in May of 2013. We broke up last summer but ended up getting back together in the fall and I’ve never been happier.
5. How tall are you?
I’m a whopping 5’3 haha.
6. Favourite colour?
Periwinkle (yes I’m one of those people).
7. Favourite movies?
About Time, Age of Adeline, The Notebook and the whole X-Men series (bet you didn’t see that one coming haha).
8. Favourite bands/artists?
Passenger, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, Vampire Weekend, Swim Deep, The Beatles, First Aid Kit, The Kooks, Beach House, The Arctic Monkeys, Regina Spektor, Band of Horses, Blink 182, Foster the People, and Blitzen Trapper.
9. Favourite songs?
A few of my forever favourites would be Anyone Else But You by The Moldy Peaches, Sea of Love by Cat Power and Home by Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
10. Favourite food?
This Chinese restaurant near my old house made this “tofu chilli” that was basically deep fried tofu that looked like big marshmallows after being roasted on a bonfire, and they’re served on a bit of noodles with red peppers and this spicy sauce. I know that’s really specific but it’s quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever had.
The restaurant is called Wei’s Noodle House and if you’re ever in Ottawa I highly suggest you check them out! (http://weisnoodlehouse.com)
12. Any piercings?
Two on both the lobes of my ears, my tragus and my helix. I’d love to get my septum, but it’ll probably never happen.
13. What type of phone?
I have an iPhone 5, it’s become sort of an addiction. My phone case right now is actually quite cute too, it’s clear with little pressed flowers in it. I got it from Paper Chase in England (http://www.paperchase.co.uk).
14. Reason you made a blog?
Honestly, to fill up my spare time. When I first started my blog I was starting a new program in school and wanted something to channel my extra energy at. I kind of neglected my blog until recently but I’ve been having lots of fun updating it and posting more regularly!
15. Meaning behind your blog name?
I’m a petite lady who adores to travel. I thought the name “my little traveling heart” captured that.
16. Where have you traveled?
Canada, United States, China, Switzerland, England, Ireland, Scotland, France and Netherlands. If you’d like to see a more detailed list, I crafted up these cute little maps on my ‘the travels’ page, you should check it out: https://mylittletravelingheart.wordpress.com/the-travels/
17. Where would you like to travel next?
I’d love to explore more of North America. I haven’t really explored much of Canada other than Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. I’d love to go out east and explore Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI, or go really out west and see British Columbia. I’d also love to rent a camper and drive all over the United States, maybe next summer!
18. Where would you like to end up?
I’d love to “settle down” in either Portland, Oregon, United States or a little sea side city in England. Funnily enough, because of visa’s and such, I’d actually have a better chance of moving to England. I’d be happy anywhere with the sea or mountains, or both.
19. Where do you clothes shop?
I think my top clothing shops would have to be Brandy Melville, Forever 21 and H&M. I recently bought the best pair of jeans from Pull & Bear while I was in the UK though and I can see myself making many future orders from them online.
20. Beauty product you couldn’t live without?
Essie nail polish. I’m not sure if that really counts but ever since I stopped biting my nails I need them to be polished.
21. Do you have any children?
No ma’am! Probably won’t for another 10 years.
22. Do you want children?
Yes eventually, I’m way too young and immature right now, but the day will come. I can’t wait to be a momma.
23. What would you name your children?
I don’t want any of you stealing my ideas haha, but if I had a daughter I’d name her Edith and if I had a son I’d name him Gideon or Henry.
I have a list for everything, I hate when formatting isn’t consistent, I’ll take off all my nail polish as soon as theres one chip and I call my mum to answer questions more than I use google.
Can organizing be a hobby? Recently I reorganized all the cupboards in our kitchen for fun. I literally get a thrill out of things being ecstatically pleasing and easily accessible. I also enjoy taking and editing photos and more recently, blogging!
I try my best for the past to be the past but not finishing my degree in uni has been a regret of mine lately. Not that I think it will be entirely beneficial, I’d finish my degree with no increased job prospects and I would have a whopping pile of debt that I don’t have now, but I hate loose ends and I think it’ll always kind of irk me that I never finished.
Moths and failure.
I hope to get a job in my field, hopefully in the trade show or wedding side of things. I’d like to move closer to the ocean and buy my own first pet (a Scottish Fold kitten…so cute!). That’s really about it, but I try not to get too set on any ideas. If you don’t have expectations you can never be disappointed.
29. Reading anything?
Yes actually! I always try my best to read as much as I can in the summer because that’s when I’m typically not reading anything for school. I’m currently reading This Side of Paradise by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
